BEGINNINGS
The vision for New Creation Teaching
Ministry was given at a weekend meeting of twenty-one people
at Victor Harbor in South Australia, in January 1973. In June
that year Geoffrey and Laurel Bingham left the Adelaide Bible
Institute at Victor Harbor, where he had been Principal, and
began this work with a second-hand duplicator in a borrowed farmhouse
near Mount Compass.
GEOFFREY BINGHAM
An experienced Bible teacher, Anglican minister, a husband and
father, former soldier and prisoner of war, farmer and writer,
missionary and Founder-Principal of the Pakistan Bible Institute,
Geoffrey Bingham believed that God had given him an unmistakable
vision of a wide communication of the Gospel in Australia and beyond.
Experiences of genuine revival had left him with an indelible impression
of what true faith and life can be. So began the itinerant teaching
ministry which came to be called 'New Creation Publications' (at
an inaugural meeting of eight persons on 10th January 1974), and
then further became known generally as the 'New Creation Teaching
Ministry'. A Council meets Quarterly to oversee and handle the
affairs of the group.
TEACHING CENTRE
The present site for New Creation at Coromandel East in the Adelaide
Hills was provided in a remarkable way in 1975-6. A recording studio
was constructed, in which monthly 'Masters Classes' were given
and recorded. (Later called the 'Living Faith Studies', numbering
50 in all, these gave comprehensive and foundational teaching on
a wide range of biblical topics. They are all still available from
New Creation in printed, cassette and mp3 formats.)

THE WORD GOES
OUT
Missions, Teaching Series and Bible Schools in various venues
followed, and others were drawn onto the Team as the site grew
into a large campus with a fully equipped teaching centre, library,
publication, sales and administration facilities, and a print
room. Over 400 book titles, 3,000 cassettes and 500 videos have
been produced. Many songs have been written and published, study
courses have been set up, and the website, CDs and mp3 versions
of the materials as well as DVDs have spread the teaching more widely.
THE TEAM
In 1986, Ian Pennicook, Anglican minister and former student
of Geoffrey Bingham at ABI, commenced work with NCTM with his
family from their home at Bowral in New South Wales. A Spring
School is held annually in Sydney and from 2007, another in Mittagong. At the
beginning of 2001, Geoffrey Bingham handed over the leadership
of the work to John Skewes and Martin Bleby, while continuing
to teach, preach and write.
BY THE HAND OF GOD
All of this has come as needed over the years from the hand
of God, through the unsolicited gifts of God's people. The work
began in trust that God would supply the material needs for workers,
facilities and equipment-a principle of faith that the Ministry
has worked by ever since-and God has been faithful in that. No
one on the Team, nor any of the many Helpers, is paid a salary
or stipend. Each person trusts the Father for personal provision.
There is no financial charge to the churches or groups to which
ministry is given. All teaching is free. While there is provision
in its Constitution for New Creation Teaching Ministry to be
wound up at any time, and its assets transferred to some similar
ministry or charitable object, up to now God has persisted, despite
the weaknesses and failings of those on the Team, to sustain
and further this ministry, for the benefit of many, and to His
glory.
