FOREWORD

These studies were first given to the Revival Fellowship of the Uniting Church (South Australia) in October 1980.

It was thought that the study might also prove of use to other clergy and laity. Doubtless the matter contained here has been treated without any great depth, although with some concern and genuine feeling for the plight of the churches in the eighties.

There are many reasons for great hope today. It is with this thought that this little study is published. If it stimulates others to consider the matters of love and power then perhaps this justifies its publication.
