ABOUT THIS BOOK

• Is God's reign over His universe that of a tyrant or a loving Father, Creator and King?
• Does not predestination make Man into a puppet, help- less before a God who-willy-nilly--consigns man to bliss or a terrible fate?
• Is Man put into the universe to exercise certain controls over it, and does he have a vocation which has an eternal purpose?
• How can we reconcile the sovereignty of God with the presence of evil powers in creation, and how does God ultimately reconcile all things?

These and other questions are taken up by the writer of this book, who has been firmly convinced over his seven decades of life that God is sovereign. He sees the alternative to that sovereignty as being alarming, as dreadful, and as a cause for human despair. The control and rule of God over His universe, over all history, and all that is eternal is essential to the vindication of God, and the personal peace of His elect people.
