Three Faithful Servants

Three Faithful Servants

Cover Picture: Durham Cathedral, England.

ABOUT THIS BOOK

For many years, Archbishop Loane has specialized in chapter-length biographies of the great Christian leaders. He has seen the outward story of their lives as a window through which to watch the grace of God at work in a man's soul. Little Bilney and William Tyndale; Ridley and Cranmer; Bunyan and Baxter; Charles Simeoh and Henry Martyn; J. C. Ryle and H. C. G. Moule: each in turn has been the subject of one of these studies. His last biographical book was published by New Creation Publications in 1988, with the title These Happy Warriors. The present volume, Three Faithful Servants, represents Archbishop Loane's final contribution to this genre of Christian history, and the closing chapter on Bishop Lightfoot marks a suitable point at which to pause and stand at the salute.

The Most Reverend Sir Marcus Loane was formerly Anglican Archbishop of Sydney and Primate of all Australia. For many years the Principal of Moore Theological College, Sydney, he has travelled widely in Australia and overseas, bringing his theological, ministerial and devotional insights to many situations. His writing of books ranges over many decades, and in this decade is no less in volume and substance.
