This is not a book about improving church life, setting new goals or even changing the world. The reason why it is not any of these things is because the author is setting out to show us what God has already done. When we see these things, they will set our hearts aglow with the wonder of who we are.

In ten chapters Ian Pennicook shows us aspects of the church which God has formed and over which Jesus is Lord and through which the Triune God is accomplishing his purpose for all creation.
