Is true loving community possible, and achievable? We spend more time at odds than at peace with each other. No one can come up with a ‘how to’ that does the job. The task is humanly impossible.

The history of the church, with its petty squabbles and puffed-up hierarchies, would not appear to hold out much hope. But in this embattled and sometimes apathetic gathering of God’s people lies the mystery of God’s grace. It is in reality a unique community, that in suffering can know the great fullness and strength of humility, gentleness, and meekness in the mutual indwelling dynamic of God’s love.

Are you tempted to be disappointed, even angry at the church for not being what it should be? This book could take you beyond that to what the church really is. We can live in the word and life of God that has come to us in Jesus Christ.
