School
of Evangelists
2007

The School of Evangelists is for those who have the gospel
burning in their hearts, and cannot but share it. It is also
for any who desire to see the gospel burning in their church,
or in their neighbourhood. These people gather for prayer, teaching,
encouragement and training, as they go out to share the gospel
with others through their churches and in their lives.
Meetings are held monthly on Saturday mornings for biblical
input, sharing, encouraging and supporting one another in what
God is doing in the work of evangelising. No fees or registration
necessary.
Meetings are held on Saturday mornings once a month, 9.30–11.30 am, for biblical input, sharing, encouraging and supporting one another in what God is doing in the work of evangelising. This year it will be held at the Klynsmiths’ home, corner of Chandlers Hill Rd and Glenloth Dve, Happy Valley (Phone 8387 8726). Led by Andrew Klynsmith.

New Creation Teaching Ministry has been exercising
an evangelistic and teaching ministry among churches Australia-wide
and beyond for over thirty years. Here are some statements which
express our understanding of the work of evangelising:
Eternal Life
‘If the gospel is looked upon as a way of increasing the
size of our churches, then we have missed the point. We may be ‘eager
to preach’ in order to have larger congregations. If so,
we have the wrong idea; proclaiming the gospel is to bring eternal
life to our listeners.’
Personal Transformation
‘The gospel must first be of the most amazing nature to
us personally, seeing it has personally transformed us. All groups
can be enthusiastic about getting others to believe what they do,
but there is no merit in that. All that we speak…is to no
point if we do not burn with the gospel.’
Saving Power
‘We must understand the great verities of the forgiveness
of sins, the cleansing of them, the liberation from all forms of
evil, the greatness of grace to bring human beings into a wonderful
freedom. Above all we must understand the saving power of the Cross,
and what it is to come under Christ’s Lordship in life, as
the battle goes on to make the kingdoms of this world to become
the kingdoms of our Lord and his Christ.’
The Word of Redemption
‘The life and health of our churches, depends not primarily
upon the brilliance of theologians, the social action which shows
our concern for disadvantaged people, the organising of church
growth, and the use of other techniques and marketing strategies.
Whatever value these things may or may not have, the primary purpose
of the church is to preach the gospel throughout the world and
to bring its saving power to persons outside the message of salvation
and the community of Christ. The primary resource is the Word of
redemption, the Word of God’s love, and his grace which brings
guilty human beings into the peace of forgiveness and justification.
This Word makes them to be part of Christ’s community—the
church. This is the community of love and care, but its first care
is that men and women and young people should come into the peace
of forgiveness. The rest will follow.’
Thoroughgoing Teaching
‘I personally believe that teaching is the best form of
evangelism. I am not convinced that extremely simple presentations
of a few points with strong pressure to ‘make decisions’ is
the best way to bring life to the churches and the churches to
life. Even so, I believe God uses all kinds of human endeavours,
often in spite of ourselves, our ideas and our methods.’
(Extracts from Eager to Preach by Geoffrey Bingham,
NCPI, 1998.)
The Gospel Message
‘There are so many subjects, aspects and the like that
we can proclaim, such as knowing God, His love, His grace, His
judgment, His salvation, Man’s sin, his lostness, the danger
of death and hell, the Prodigal and the Father, the joy of the
forgiveness of sins, of being justified, of the cleansing, the
sonship, the warmth of the Shepherd, Christ the life, the truth,
the way, the bread, the door; the Cross, the resurrection, the
heavenly home, safety, certainty, the hope of glory—and so
on.’
Gospel Fire
‘As we proclaim these themes they must be simple and clear,
no apologetics, no complicated reasoning, but a loving sincere
message from a heart which has gospel fire burning in it.’
